FARGO, N.D. — Border States Electric (BSE) was recognized as the 2013 Employee Stock Ownership Plan Company of the Year by the Minnesota/Dakotas Chapter of the ESOP Association April 18, 2013, at its chapter meeting in Minneapolis, Minn.
BSE received this award for its involvement and participation in the chapter and national association, high level of employee communications, community involvement and government relations activities. The recognition has been forwarded on to the national award competition, which will be announced at the Wednesday, May 8, 2013, awards banquet as part of the Annual National ESOP Conference in Washington, D.C.
The Minnesota/Dakotas Chapter of the ESOP Association includes 100 member companies. It is linked with 18 other chapters throughout the United States through the national ESOP Association.

BSE supplies products and services to construction, industrial and utility customers. The 100 percent employee-owned company is the eighth largest electrical distributor in the U.S. with nearly 1,500 employees and 56 branches in 13 states. Corporate headquarters are located in Fargo, N.D.
