This anchor expands and wedges against solid walls of rock. Once it is expanded, the harder the pull on the rod--the tighter it wedges. Wedges are made of malleable or ductile iron with a rust-resistant coating. Rod should be in line with the guy.
- 1 inch rod minimum ultimate strength of 36000 pounds
- 3/4 inch rod minimum ultimate strength of 23000 pounds
- Failure to install within 10 degree of alignment with the guy load may significantly lower strength
- Recommended minimum installation depth is 12 inch in solid rock
